Session 1

The first session will be used to discuss the module, to think a little about research in a business context, and to reflect on our existing research skills and knowledge.

The inter-session tasks to be done before session 2 are:

  1. Read the module handbook.
  2. Read the extract from Piore (1979) and write a short explanation - see handout for further guidance.
  3. Read the webpage here on the Hawthorne Experiments.
  4. Have a look through at least one text book, eg Bryman & Bell (2003), Collis & Hussey (2003), Saunders, Lewis & Thornhill (2003). (See reading list.)
