Session 8

The inter-session tasks you should be working on are:

  1. Complete an excellent focus group discussion guide/interview schedule as soon as possible, but remembering that the quality of this will have a big impact on the success of the research overall. Work with other students to get criticism and suggestions. You may also ask me - pop in, email me or come along to session 9.
  2. Arrange your interviews or focus groups. Remember to arrange to have suitable recording equipment.
  3. Complete the data collection for your assessed work before the two week spring break that starts on 5 April.
  4. You may also be able to begin writing your paper - the background and some writing about the research design and data collection could probably be started.
  5. Read! And read some more! (eg Gillham, Litosseliti, Bryman & Bell etc etc)
  6. Look at some published qualitative research, eg Fischer & Reuber (2003), Callaghan & Thompson (2002).
