Session 3

Inter-session tasks to be completed before session 4.

  1. Read Skrabec (2003) (given out in the session).
  2. Read the article "A new take on what not to wear" by Cohen (given out in the session).
  3. Do some reading on Utilitarianism, eg chapter 2 in Boatright.
  4. Read Stephen Law on Aunt Gertude's hideous tie (given out in the session).
  5. Reflect on the discussion in session 3.
  6. Re-read the Friedman article if you didn't really get on top of it last week.
  7. Make a log entry and look out for examples of ethical arguments being used in connection with the issue(s) you've spotted. Think about how ethical theories might be applied to the issue(s).
